"Azaad/Roshan Khayal" Larkyaan

Now here’s something that I didn’t know.. I was enlightned to know that ALL girls who grow up in Gora Lands grow up to be more “Azad/Roshan Khayal” then their desi counterparts living back home.

Somehow this generalization seems a little incomplete without defining “Azaad/Roshan Khayal”.

So how would YOU define it?

This Space For Rent

Azad jo mera naam hai MEANS I AM NOT SUDUED OR BEHOLDEN BY A TYRANICAL FORCE LIKE INDEPENDENT.

But in case of your Azad roshan khyal i think it is Negative b/c that means you are uninhibited bebak or not fearing to do anything daring spl. in matters of culturally ,socially & religously taboo matters .

Similarly Roshan khyal is another negative chacteristics from my oppoint of view b/c if progressive means accepting gay /lesbian test tube baby of single mother working as lap dancer in singles bar then it is all BAD KHYAL no matter how ROSHAN the lights are in the strip joint like las vegas

Azaad: Independent of thought and character.

Roshan Khayaal: Adopting the good and leaving the not-so-good of both cultures; open - minded, not influenced by the narrow-minded rigours of "tradition", be it western or eastern.

As for being more or less so, there's the good, the bad and the downright ugly in both societies.

Roshan Khayal means that they have an understanding of two different cultures, the one that they live in at home, and the one that they live in outside their home. This exposure to two different styles of looking/analysing things gives them (well most of them ) the ability to make better judgements when it comes to their own choices.
In pakistan, as much as I luv my counrty, women dont get that choice, plus I think that men* folk in pk also are more dominating and opinionated, forcing them to conform to the ideas that they dictate.

*excluding some akal mands

MOSTLY AZAD KHYAL & ROSHAN KHYAL IN OUR COUNTRY ARE WESTERNISED EXTERNALLY TO SHOW OFF THAT THEY ARE BETTER THAN POOR WHO HAVE NO OPERTUNITY OF EDUCATION.

Who are so called progressive in Pakistan ...Models just like bollywood & hollywood

film star & celebrity of this or that kind who think everything in the west is better than them

Classical example of how a stereotypes emerge....dude, you re banking on the stigma that is attached to this idea, and ignoring what it really means...

Dear aamir, roshan khayal has nothing to do with azad khayal larkiyan. If you're talking about girls who date, have premarital sex, think that listening to MTV would make them modern, or wearing mini tanktops has something to do with liberty (HAHAHAHAHHAHAHA) then let me assure you you are wrong. Unfortunatley, in Pakistan many people associate liberty with permissiveness, and cowardice of their favourite leaders as honor. There are differences, I assure you.
