Re: ayaat on trying

There are times when you have so many worries that they weigh you down. Problems just seem to come from all directions. You might begin to imagine that this is what your life is about – one long list of problems. Pessimism tales over and you see your future as dark indeed with no light up ahead.

Do not give in to such pessimism. Never look at the bad without thinking about the good that lies ahead. Never mistake your present problems for being your lot in life.

Allah says: “So, verily, with every difficulty, there comes ease: Verily, with every difficulty there comes ease.” [Sûrah al-Inshirâh: 5-6]

"Don’t give up in Allah. Always believe that He is there to help you." (Ayah 110) Surah Yusuf

If you meant "Not giving up hope of Allahs mercy upon a sinner"

Numerous Ahaadeeth and Qur'aanic verses give hope to the sinful believer in the Mercy of Allah for forgiveness of his sins, for Allah is full of forgiveness, pardon and covering mistakes of people, in spite of the people’s persistence upon transgression: “And never give up hope of Allah's Mercy. Certainly, no one despairs of Allah's Mercy, except the people who disbelieve.” [Soorah Yusuf (12): 87]

Hope in the Mercy of Allah should be accompanied by regret and remorse of the heart upon the sins committed, sincerity, hastening repentance and avoiding sins as is clearly manifest from the following verses of the Qur'aan. Allah says: “And whosoever does evil or wrongs himself but afterwards seeks Allah's forgiveness, he will find Allah Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” Soorah an-Nisa (4):

Re: ayaat on trying

^ this meaning of surah yusuf, verse 110 that u have put here is totally off target....

Re: ayaat on trying

^ I don't really see anything wrong with how he is interpreting it.

ولا تايءسوا من روح الله can be interpreted in that way... RW/YH: Spirit/Energy

STP Good post... I would also add the following:

50:39 فاصبر على ما يقولون وسبح بحمد ربك قبل طلوع الشمس وقبل الغروب
So be patient over what they are saying/asserting, and do-your-best/rise-to-the-top/glorify with grace of your Lord/Provider/Giver before sunrise/a-glorious-awakeing and before sunset/a-great-collapse.

50:40 ومن اليل فسبحه وأدبر السجود
Then Even from the night/darkest-hours/times, do-your-best-for/rise-above-all-for/glorify it/Him, and (they i.e. rest of humanity) shall follow/come-to-admire the prostrations/acts-of-humility/acts-of-submission-to-The-Message. (i.e. be the best example in ALL situations and never give up)
