So I was leaving my uncle’s house and my phupho said Khudafiz and not even skipping a second waiting for me to say it back to her, she said “agay Khudahafiz bhi kehtein hain” and im like uhhh ok can u wait at least two seconds 
Well my Q is, how do u guys feel when an adult says to you “salaam kartay hain” or “aunty ko bhi salam karo.” do you feel like a two year old again? Embarrassed? etc? Me, i feel very embarrassed and say salaam/KH etc. I hate it when adults do that, like we’re so stupid or something.

i say keh "meine keh diya hai" even if i havent ;)
or say ke "mein hamesha kehti hun (khuda hafiz/AH, etc)"

say salaam to the whole room then an elder will say "have you done salaam " i'm like haan when i came in
just to keep them happy i end up saying it again

When I used to get that from the elders, I used to say, next time Tape Recorder par record kar kay proof daY dooN gaa, abhi salaam dobarah mo'addabaanaa arz hai :D

they say it to remind you. dont be embarrased respect them, the elders have more experience as to what is needed in a person who is younger than them.

I know how it feels... so the solution I made is I say it so loud that nobody can say I havent heared it....... and if anyone say... that was loud... I say ' Then I should say it or what?' and so nobody says me anything...
I means say Salam in stoned and sound voice...
