What do you do when you come upon awkward silences?

If its a group and noone has anything to say then I wait for someone to get their phones out then I get my phone out too :smiley:

If its one-to-one then its silence till one person walks away or ‘has to leave’

LOL!

I talk nonstop. People take out restraining orders. My husband has earplugs.

Take my phone out, look at my nails, go to the kitchen/bathroom, or state the obvious "Everyone is quiet."

I check my muscles. As I am making sure if they are still there.

I crack a joke, or kiss the guy nearest to me. Enough to cause a conversation to start.

I usually wait for a woman to do that. :D
