Avtar in Hinduism?

re: Avtar in Hinduism?

You get me wrong … I am finding parallels … A way to connect not create division … Look at what people have written in the past about ancient Hindu texts … It’s not just Zakir Naik :hehe: Other people in the past … some gave them due credit because we as Muslims believe all nations have been sent prophets … And some parts of the Vedas actually state that God is one.

re: Avtar in Hinduism?

have you read the vedas, psyah? because if you did, you would know that the rig veda - the oldest of them - is basically a bunch of hymns praising a veritable pantheon of gods cognate with the old iranic and greek pantheons. hinduism has monotheistic, monistic, atheistic, polytheistic, tantric dimensions as is common with eastern religions, and isnt unidimensional and literal like the abrahamic faiths.

and i have seen this before with you and other "religious" muslims - any discussion on other religions is turned into a "how XYZ was originally islam but got corrupted" fairytale. please dont.

re: Avtar in Hinduism?

Peace queer

Do you have any good links of the Rig Ved with Sanskrit? I have read a few things but not many ...

re: Avtar in Hinduism?

is it possible that two avtars could come to the world during same period?

re: Avtar in Hinduism?

Presence of all these dimension in one religion proves that it got corrupted.

For atheistic dimension, any example please?

re: Avtar in Hinduism?

what we consider corruption is flexibility and tolerance there. As far as I know, Gautam Budha denied all deities and when they included Budha in list of Avtars it included Atheistic dimension in Hinduism.

re: Avtar in Hinduism?

Theism and atheism collectively making a religion, another theism? its a contradiction.
Well its esay a pie to understand.

I could not understand how including Budha in list avtars made hinduism atheistic as Bhuda is god of merchandise and protector of Merchants as per wikipedia.

re: Avtar in Hinduism?

The mechanism of avatar presents quite a few philological problems. One problem is "form" - translation and alteration of God.

A Hindu friend of mine was insisting that I was an avatar, because I introduced to him a different kind of awareness. I tried to explain to him that God cannot be contained, but he insisted that I was trying to limit God and I was Him ... auzdubillah ... of course I avoided him before I started to get a god-complex.

re: Avtar in Hinduism?

It’s always amusing to see people comparing their fairy tale to other fairy tales.

re: Avtar in Hinduism?

Wait until we compare it to the evolution fairytale - then find that amusing.:snooty:

re: Avtar in Hinduism?

An Avatar is considered to be the descent of the spirit of a divine being (like Vishnu) into a regular (but spiritually advanced) human being - so the divine being can act through the ordinary human being as a God descended on earth - at least that is my understanding.

The next expected Avatar is that of Kalki - some expect him to come to the world pretty soon.

BTW, there is an interesting analysis of different Hindu Gods at Hindu Gods
