I always found those averages to be nonsense especially for a Desi baby. I breastfed and I'm petite, so my kids were not big. I think formula fed babies tend to be chubbier.

Well even a fetus measures small when talking about averages. My OBGYN kept telling me i'd have a small baby. But 6'9oz for me is a pretty good sized baby.
