autobiographical sketch

Hi, I need some tips for writing an essay for professional schools. I know there is a lot of information on the net (which I’m going through). But I’d like to get some tips from the personal experiences of people here.

The main problem I have is starting the essay. I’ve heard that most people start theirs with a quote or a cliche and the admissions people are fairly sick of this practice. So, what would make a reasonable and logical start to this kind of writing in your opinion?

thanks!

Tell them you are too good for their school, but if they give you some $, you will consider it.

how did you get to be so funny? you're a riot.

Try this book. it is quite a bit dated but you will get some idea. borrow it from the library. how to get into the top MBA programs by Moutack. There are other similar books for other professional schools and you can read up on them.

You have to make the essay personal. Perhaps Matusi has some ideas from his harvad days.

thanks man. I'll look into it.

again, much appreciated.
