Auto Insurance

hey guys,

was searching around for companies that provide car insurance in the Toronto/Ontario area. so if you know of any personally that are offering cheaper rates than the other, if you’d pass on that info, it’d be great.

even if you’ve just heard of companies, I wouldn’t mind searching out for them myself.

btw, does anyone know if bel air direct only operates in the US? or does it have any offices in Canada as well?

thanks! =)

Re: Auto Insurance

Call me nerd or whatever, but for last 7 years I relied on Kanetix website for the quotes. Its unique in the world, gives you access to all insurance lenders in Canada. You can create your profile (no personal info, just driving record) and then select the car information etc. It will search with all the companies’ database and will give you top 10 results. You get a Kanetix quotation ID with quote, it will tell you the toll free number for the insurance company, company rating, claims ratio etc etc. You can add Multiline discount (multiple cars, home, travel etc).ITS A ONE STOP SHOP FOR ME. PERIOD! You call the company and give them Kanetix reference number and they can pull the info you add, so you don’t have to repeat the info.

you also get tips on how to save insurance and email notification when its time to renew the insurance. You can get as many quotes you want.

I always got cheapest rate from this site. I used to go with brokers before, but not any more Alhamdollillah.

Currently I am with RBC Insurance and they have a very good reputation. They are new in business 4+ years and are highly recommended. Its a direct insruance so no broker or overhead. Pretty good service.

Re: Auto Insurance

^^

My broker has beaten the cheapest Kenetix multiline discount every year, usually by hundreds of dollars (in my first year, she beat it by over $1000)

This year though, she's only saving me $10 over the kanetix price :(

I need to get married - she says my insurance rate will fall a lot when that happens....

Re: Auto Insurance

^ That's what they want you to think. After marriage it's bills, bills, bills.

Re: Auto Insurance

^^ so true - not worth the “savings” on the insurance :rotfl:

Re: Auto Insurance

I've been with DirectProtect (now Coseco) for almost 7 years. They're pretty good and provide bonuses for good driving record... e.g. if you've got a clean record for 4 years, then you get a 6-star rating which lets you off without insurance penalties on your first offense etc.
