Okay so I want to make authentic chicken karahi and searched on the internet all receipes have different combinations so I have put a list, which ones definately in authentic recipe? And is the authentic recipe the same as restuarant or are they different in ingredients if so how?
onion
garam masala
tumeric powder
kasthuri meethi powder
methi seeds
yoghurt
ghee or oil
corriander powder
corriander seeds
green chillis or red chills
red chilli powder
tinned or fresh tomatoes
garlic paste (fresh or bottled)
*ginger paste (fresh or bottled)
*fresh ginger for garnish?
*zeera seeds
*water
*fresh chopped corriander
I cannot say which ones are authentic but I can give an idea as I have tried Chicken karahi many times with different recipes and ingredients.
I did not like the taste of ghee but if you like it try it with ghee, I prefer oil
I once used coriander powder and it changed the tast completely, so I would not put coraiander powder at all. No coriander seeds either.
I tried kasuri methi and we both (me and husband) liked it and thought it kind of tasted like restaurant karahi.
You can search for karahi recipe here and try that, I would add kasuri methi and make it like the recipe available here.
