This series kicks off in November, WI are playing some warm up games before hand.
On paper it looks a mismatch, Aus should (and probably will) win 3-0, but WI can showcase some of there emerging talent in this series, and have the personnel to beat any side.
Watch out for the string of new young fast bowlers the Wi possess, they have the fastest ave bowing attack in the world at the mo, with 4 guys who can bowl at speeds of 90mph plus.
Edwards
Lawson
Best
Powell
Are quick enough to devestate any line-up if they get it right.
Re: Australia V West Indies Test/ODI series thread
WI won the Toss and elected to field first ...... i see AUS 360+ /3 after day 1 ..... not a good decision by Chandu ....... warne will bowl at last means in the 4th. innings (if its necessary)
Re: Australia V West Indies Test/ODI series thread
I am waiting to see how Mike Hussey plays, a lot has been written about him. He has been described as very unlucky to make his debut so late in his career and that too cause Langer is injured. If he performs that would put that much extra pressure on Hayden since he is already out of the ODI squad and will have to score heavily to make sure same thing doesnt happen to him in the test. If it does that means Hussey will have a regular spot as aopner but that also means slowly but surley Aussies dominannt team is going away. Warne is not playing ODI's anymore, Bevan is out, Hayden out of ODi's so let's see how long does the Aussies dominance last with new players coming in now.
Re: Australia V West Indies Test/ODI series thread
Hussey finally off the mark. I think with him it's more nerves of playing his first test match after waiting so long and with Hayden it's nerves of making it certain to perform or face an axe. So I think the Aussie scoring rate initially would be a little slower then usual.
Re: Australia V West Indies Test/ODI series thread
If they pick up Ponting now they'll be right on top. Ponting looks to be in good form, timing it well. He has the ability to take Aussies out of the trouble onto a good total.
Re: Australia V West Indies Test/ODI series thread
Ponting and Gilchrist are having a easy time at the wicket so far...Ponting has been quite a few times involved in salvaging actcs I think he holds the key
