I thought it was clearly NOT OUT, but Ian Gould just relied on the snicko and gave him out right away, biased umpiring

Umpiring was mediocre in entire series but the focus is lost when the margin of result is so varied. The disappointing factor is that Pakistani team could do faaar better than this but they just didnt try hard enough

I guess they were already fed the statistics that Pakistan have lost in Australia on most occasions, Australia are champs in their own backyard, pitches are unplayable bla bla bla, so the players played to some extent and then gave up too quickly… mental strength!?

Very disappointed in Misbah, looks like he had all the brain-farts in NZ and Aus as batsman in last 2 series. I wish Amir and Yasir well, but they were big disappointments in the bowling side.

Ian Gould gives rubbish decision against Wahab riaz. Gould has been a star player in the previous test also for the aussies.

My conclusions (some of this might be repetition)

How can Pakistan draw let alone win a test or test series in Australia? I predicted 3-0 loss after the first test despite the fight back in the second innings. Our players lack the discipline or temperament needed to play well over 5 days. Batting well in one innings is not good enough in these conditions. As we have seen you can lose a test despite scoring 450. Conditions were good for batting at both Melbourne and Sydney and we should have been able to secure a draw on the final day. Bowling was a total failure in this series. For some reason the same bowling attack that did well in England looked toothless down under. Even the two Ws were more successful in England than Australia in tests. They did not bowl us to any test wins in Australia (you can blame the batting as well). Misbah’s captaincy was lacklustre and clueless at times to say the least. (His record outside Asia i.e. in England/Aus/NZ//South Africa is 2 wins and 9 losses!) His field settings were ultra defensive (heavy focus on leg side field). With his own poor batting form he just could not inspire the team. Fielding/catching was also substandard. It will be a long while before we can end this jinx in test matches in Australia. Our ODI team is a joke, so expect another thrashing down under.

The two Ws were more successful in England than Australia in tests. They did not bowl us to any test wins in Australia (you can blame the batting as well).

Imran Khan did (Sydney 1977) with match haul of 12/165 (6/102 and 6/63)

Sarfraz Nawaz did (Melbourne 1979) with match haul of 11/125 (2/39 and 9/86)

He makes a fair point but then Australia should perhaps also not visit Asia/UAE unless they learn how to play well in those conditions

I suspect this might be taken in a wrong way but pundits like Boycott and Chapell are very unforgiving but less biased I would say. Whilst there is definitely a degree of bias with both of them, they generally appreciate good cricket regardless of the opposition and hit hard on bad cricket regardless of who is playing it. The thing with these old cricketers like Boycott, Willis and Chappell is that they don’t do this political correct BS. They call it out as they see which can rub many people in the wrong way.

I may be wrong here, but I suspect Chappelli’s comment is to a certain degree because he cares about Pakistan cricket. He could’ve been like the rest of the channel 9 commentators guffawing and swooning over how the talented Australian team swept another side with ease during the Australian summer again. **The fact that he criticises the Pakistani performance in the series is because he probably feels Pakistan is too big a team to have such a record in the last 2 decades in Australia and let’s be honest, for a side with the passion and glorious history like Pakistan, their record in Australia in the last 20 years is shockingly poor **(and I’m saying it without a tinge of schadenfreude).

I think the criticism is harsh but I don’t think it’s condescending in any way. I’ve seen the rest of the channel nine commies having a condescending attitude towards visiting teams but not Chapell. I’ve always seen himself as someone who appreciates and cares about good cricket more than being just another blind jingoist. Think his comment shouldn’t be taken literally and should be more about the point he’s making. My two cents..

The Aussies are visiting India in Feb for a 4 test series. Lets see how they fare this time around. Warner and Smith might do well with the bat but Lyon is no match for Ashwin and Jadeja esp. in Indian conditions

I find Ian Chappel’s comments painfully insulting but in the end I want to begin things with self-analysis. Unfortunately Pakistan is not doing that at all. When Hamilton test ended in complete Pakistani collapse I said there gotto be a post-mortem for that but it was slided under the rug afterwhich we had to see this mess in Australia.

Pakistani team can do wonders for sure but unless the direction is right, nothing will happen.

Looking forward to that. Smith has been India killer. India needs to find a way to get him out. Warner probably will be taken care of by Ashwin and another young off spinner Yadav.

Slip fielding has been abysmal though.
