My answer is Yes…no doubt.
Time and again they have been proving this. Last ten years have been dominated by Aussies, although there are other good teams competing.
I can’t think of any other team that has achieved so much as this Australian team…probably not only in cricket but in all other sports??

I believe so too I dont think the Windies dominated for that long. They might have been more dangerous at their best but I dont think their best lasted as long as the Aussies current domination of the game.

Not only the duration of dominance is amazing. You have to also look at how they have dominated. In this world cup they never had a close game. All the game they played was one sided.

They deserve all the accolades. An all-time greatest for more than a decade would be the most fitting. They provide nothing but complete humiliation for their opponents. Their bowling resources might not be as in-depth as they had been over the years, but they will still hold that top spot for as long as they have top-performance bench strength and strong domestic circuit. Bracken, Johnson and Tait can now easily be compared and analyzed, as opposed to Warne or McGrath, who will always be incomparable. Their is no replacement for them. Australia does not lack the mental strength by any means but one department they may come up short in is the bowling, in coming times. Since other teams are playing catch-up, they need to retune their batting skills and mental strength level in order to keep hanging in Australia's shoes. Sri Lanka did it for roughly 20 overs. There have been glimpses of England and even South Africa giving Australia a run for their money, but it is not consistent. It is not consistent enough to really stretch them beyond their limits. Regardless of who holds the number one spot in ODI rankings, there is a pretty clear distinction between them and the rest of the world. It could, and should be reduced to the minimum within the next four years.

The present Aussie side with a win% of 82 % in ODIs and a quite astonishing 90% in tests is easily the most successful team in cricket history. The great Windies side of the late 70s-late 80s had a success % of around 75% in both tests and ODIs.
I don't think a hat-trick of World Cup victories has ever been achieved in any other team sport

The west Indies will take about 12 years time to equal Kangrooes record! India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka will take 16 years. So rest of the cricket world is ages behind the great Aussies.
And they are not "millat farosh"!

Well....Jahangir khan once went through 500+ consucutive International squash games without losing(which is Infact a record for any sport in the world) during mid 80s in a much more competitive and worldwide Sport compered to cricket (although that is an individual game but still....)so maybe Australia,s next target should be chasing that.
But No chance.
Also Pakistani Hockey side once went through 45 games undefeated in a row in early 80s (those were the days...,)
This australian cricket side has broken almost every other record in the book but still has not broken West indian record of going through 28 test matches without defeat .Next target....maybe.

The Cricket world owes a lot to Australia for lifting the standard of the game and making it more combative, athletic and fitness oriented.
If it was not for Australia, their glamourous TV coverage and their experiments(pajama cricket etc) in the last few decades -cricket would still be about pot-bellied "gentlemen" in squeaky clean white bell-bottoms escorting balls to the boundary.

Australia is surely the best team in world cricket for last 12 years. They have been in all the world cup finals since 1987 except for 1992 WC.
May be Australia will find it difficult now to take 20 wickets in a test match without Warne & McGrath but they have good backup bowlers, so it will be interesting to watch.
