^ every one knows that but there are very powerful mafias in the shape of oil importers (LNG/LPG) mafias who don’t want the country’s dependence on these fuels reduced.

Once I read in a research paper that Opec maintains a secret fund to discourage non-oil energy resources and inventions. The fund runs into millions of dollars of payouts on monthly basis and its lobbyists include top policymakers, bureaucrats, politicians, diplomats and think-tanks worldwide.
