Did you forget the drubbing we received from Western Australia second XI and what was other team President XI?? Isn’t this match much better as this is AUSTRALIA A? Don’t be so pessimistic. it goes to show that we have lost TEST match appetite but not ODI yet! :insha: they’ll perform much better in the VB series against REAL opponents. I’m sure with other bowlers coming back we’ll have a better test team soon.
I agree that we have stooped to this level that we are celebrating this win as if it were against Australia’s national team … remember we are out of Ws era in bowling, even Shoaib was missing, no Shabbir either. These are good signs, just read them and be happy
A good win indeed. I left for class when Aus A needed 25 runs in 5 overs with 5 wickets in hand and was pleasantly surprised to see Pakistan winning in the end.
Razzaq chipped in with wickets as well. Thats good news but I must say that despite his criticis, Naveed is cementing his place in Pakistan bowling line up. Good performances by him as well as Iftikhar.
And this is the very reason why Razzaq is a must in onedayer format because he is the best striker 'day in and day out' (quote stephen Fleming). We should not even think about dropping him from oneday format of the game. Lets hope he continues his form to win VB man of the series once again.
I know people don't like Rana, even I have a few issues with him (no-balls), but the day he played against India and took 3 great wickets, I knew he was in for a longer run than people wanted. He has proved better than Sami. Sami used to have same noball problems last year but not as much. I wish Rana controls his noballs and his emotions when he gets hit for a boundary and he should rock!
Yesshhh its good that Naveed is developing himself and becoming a decent bowler. The sooner he become regular in team the better, We can than scrape Mr.I-Am-Not-Fit-To-Play-Do-What-Ever-You-Want-To (aka Shoaib Akher) and have a lineup composed of Sami, Shabbir, Umer, Naveed, Asif etc !
