Aussies turn to Graeme Hick

Who would have thought this, only a couple of years ago, that the all-conquering Aussies would need his services one day

Hick himself struggled against top-class test pace bowling, besides was mentally poor.

not sure how this will help the Aussies

Re: Aussies turn to Graeme Hick

Never heard of him

Maybe he will give tips on how not to bat?

Re: Aussies turn to Graeme Hick

Hick was Waqar’s bunny. The British press came up with the term Waqared, every time Waqar clean bowled Hick during the 1992 series

Re: Aussies turn to Graeme Hick

A county bully who was found wanting against genuine pace at international level. A decent ODI batsman though

Waqered indeed. Total mismatch.

Didn't realize Miandad played with Waqar.

The series in England was Pakistan's first outing since World Cup victory. Imran was due to lead the team but pulled out at the last moment after learning that some players were unhappy that the spoils of victory (or money) were essentially going to his cancer appeal. Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital (named after his mother who died of cancer in 1985) opened in Lahore in 1994

Miandad (played his last test in 1993, Waqar debuted in 1989) was the captain in that series. Pakistan won the 5-match test series 2-1, but lost the ODIs 1-4
