Some examples are here

Others dont post at Gupshup ,so you wouldnot know.

I read some articles where Prediction is that any team winning this one will probably go on to win ICC trophy.

I was just kiddin. Aap tau serious hi ho gayay.

Anyway, deal is that there are a few teams that can beat Australia, and New Zealand is not the only one. These include Pakistan, England, Sri Lanka, NZ, and even India. But, and here is a big BUT, for that to happen, the other team has to perform at 110% and Australia needs to have a day-off. Possible, yes definitely. Likely, I dunno.

Well..of all the name I would give only 2 teams a bit of chance which is Pak or NZL. This is totally based on recent performances by all the teams. AUS are not meeting Pak till the final or may not meet at all. I dont think Eng or SL can stop them in Semis.

So if NZL does this job then this tournament will be wide open. Hence there is some expectation from fans all over world who are sick of AUS domination.

Ponting doesn’t think much of Kiwis or winning ‘myth’**
Michael Crutcher
September 16, 2004

RICKY PONTING believes the game’s watchers have fallen for the “myth” that New Zealand know how to rattle Australia.

Speaking on the eve of the teams’ sudden-death Champions Trophy pool match, Ponting insisted his world champions had more than proven their dominance over their neighbours since the Black Caps bailed up Australia on home soil three years ago.

New Zealand gained a reputation that summer as Australia’s bogey team thanks to Stephen Fleming’s astute leadership, but Ponting has had enough of the comparisons.

“That nil-all (Test) series was blown out of proportion by the part the weather played (in stalling Australia),” Ponting said.

"We lost (three) one-day games against them that summer, but I can’t remember many other games they’ve beaten us in, so I think that’s all a bit of a myth. They probably challenge us a little, but at the end of the day, our last five or six results have been good strong wins.

“We’ve got nothing to fear from them at all. We won’t even think too much about them.”

Ponting has not lost to New Zealand since taking over from Steve Waugh as captain in February 2002.

His five wins have included a 164-run demolition at the last Champions Trophy and an eight-wicket win last year that still makes Fleming grimace.

But the Kiwi captain believes his team has improved, winning 14 of 16 matches this year under coach John Bracewell and still knows how to play against Australia.

“You have to be smart when you play them. A lot of teams get emotional and they end up making mistakes trying to match Australia whereas we know what we have to do,” Fleming said.

“You can’t match up with them because they’re too big and too strong, so you have to get smart and use your strengths to manipulate a bit of pressure.”

But Fleming said some of the tactics used against the Australian batsmen three years ago were redundant heading into this match and the Test and one-day tour in summer.

“It’s going to be different because the areas we attacked certain Australian batsmen have been covered up,” Fleming said.

“It’s going to be a matter of trying to create pressure on Australia so they make mistakes.”

Ponting expects another tactical battle as Australia tries to qualify for the semi-final against England or Sri Lanka in Birmingham on Tuesday.

Australia will wait until match morning to name their team, but Glenn McGrath, Jason Gillespie and Michael Kasprowicz were expected to fill the fast bowling spots ahead of Brett Lee.

I would hope so ;)

i still feel aussie’s will do em’ :bummer: prove me wrong u kiwi’s and break ponting’s arrogance

I don't see Aussies to be unbeatable. They indeed are the strongest side in the world. But now its more of a psychological effect as Flemmings put it. There bowlers are playable (except for Warnie) and the batsmen are good but its not like their opening pair is giving 100 runs stand in every game. The penetration in their batting line up is possible, its just that there are not enough bowling talent in one team that can knock them down. Bondie, Pathan, Shoaib, Pullock and Flintoff are good bowlers these days. But they are not in the same team.
Pakistan is exception, they have tonnes of excellent bowling hands, but unfortunately no brains.

On the other hand, Aussies' good but not extra ordinary bowling line up delivers every time because they get briefings by their coach scientifically on each and every batsman of the opponents before the matches. They know which particular delivery can exploit the weakness of a player. Woolmar probablly was the pioneer of this deep analysis of the opponents. But it also depends on the student to absorb the knowledge he has been enlightened with. As we are seeing application of such tactics in Inzi's captainship and also in players in general, we can be as canny as Aussies.

This is going to be aheck of a gmae, and if Kiwi's do best Aussies can be givena run for their reputation and as much as ponting try to show confidence in his players and try to not show the pressure of this game, it is there.

why do we believe so much in predictions or history....cricket is a game by chance (as they say it)...so lets say that the better team wins tonight...

Oh man i can’t wait anymore … still 1:40 hrs to go til the match starts … i dunno why but heartbeat is like PAK v/s IND match   … BTW can too much Samosa’s + Jelebi cause a higher heartbeat/bloodpressure ???

Australia relish Kiwi tie](BBC SPORT | Cricket | Champions Trophy | Australia | Australia relish Kiwi tie)

Australia are eager to get stuck into New Zealand when they meet in a crucial Champions Trophy decider on Thursday.

The clash at The Oval will determine which side progresses to the semi-finals from Group A.

Australia are low on match practice leading up to the tournament due to bad weather but captain Ricky Ponting said: "Everybody is raring to go.

“They should be as well, because even though we have been denied match play we have trained really hard.”

European rain and damp conditions hit their tour of the Netherlands and a match against Hampshire was washed out.

But after a one-sided win over minnows USA in their opening Champions Trophy game, Ponting insisted his side were ready for their first serious test of the tournament.

“We are very well prepared and the games we have managed to play, our skills have looked very sharp.”

"New Zealand are a good side - we understand and respect that fact.

"You know, they’ve won a few one day games lately and, as they say themselves, they lift their game when they play us.

“Their batting line-up is very good. But if we can turn up and play something like our best cricket we’ll be in good shape.”

Australia have beaten the Black Caps in the past six one-day internationals, so New Zealand all-rounder Scott Styris knows nothing but the best will be good enough against the world champions.

“To beat Australia you have to be playing at the peak of your powers; nothing else will be enough,” Styris told the New Zealand Herald.

“Whatever team they decide to go with, they’re going to be a real handful.”

“It will take an exceptional effort to beat them. That’s just the nature of the beast.”

The Kiwis may have one slight advantage of having already played at The Oval when they beat the United States by 210 runs.

But New Zealand know the English weather could play the most influential part in the game, especially if run rate decides the qualifiers.

Australia’s run rate against the US was better than New Zealand’s so if the match is drawn or washed out, they will advance to the last four.
