Omg…that is scary. What is it exactly that makes them behave this way? Do people think we have access to some National Treasury they dont? We are undeserving of the hard earned money we make? Sab ka haqq banta hai na ke humari kamai mein se thora unko bhi mile, hai na?
I think people have this misconception that in the US…we are all rolling around in cash and “agar thori si cheezein humein dila bhi dein…to kya farq parta hai?” Amreeka mein jakey kisi payr se aur paise mil jayenge…right?
It can be tough. I've always enjoyed shopping for Pak although I understand it can be stressful for my mom. She tries her best to balance things out. For example, she'll try to her SIL and her sisters the same number of things.
For example, shoes and purse for both SILs.
It's especially hard when the aunties have soooo many kids....and then kids of their own. So, sometimes she'll just bring gifts for the auntis....and money for the kids, etc.
We've been to Pak so many times and haven't heard any complaints. Don't know if they take place behind our backs. If they do.........who cares. I know the sincere effort and consideration that was put into doing something nice for everyone. If they don't like it....oh well. I'm not hungry for gifts from relos in Pak. Alls I want from them is TACT.................and sometimes that can be too much to ask for.
