August 25th - Australia vs Pakistan

Hopefully the weather will be sunny this time for this extremely important match. Not because of points but winning this much will bring the moral of all the paki players to the roof. They will then most likely be the favorities to win ICC championship.

The match starts

August 25th

4:30 EST ( Eastern Standard) USA

8:00 Am BST (British Standard time)

2:00 Am PST ( Pakistan Standard time )

Lets hope, Afridi clicks in batting as well. Yasir Hameed really really needs to get his act straight. He is my favorite player but he is just not focusing these days. YoYo was impressive but had absoloute bad luck in the last match, hopefully he will bat impressively in this match aslo. No need to say anything for Shoaib Malik, His ‘Sitaraa’ is shinning above all others and will i nshAllah do some serious damage against the Aussies…
Inzimam I am sure will bat much more responsibely after playing a stupid shot against india. Moin and Razaaq looked superb with their bats. The only person i am concerned about is Shoaib, Either there is something wrong with his bowling or its just his luck. I mean he is trying hard but yet no out come. Sami was ok but could do better. As for Younis Khan this should be his last chance. IMO they should just replace Salman Butt with Younis Khan. Give the guy a chance to show what he got you know.

Lets hope for the best. I hope India wins against Aussies but it looks terribly awful for them as Tendi is not playing along with Nehra and Agarkar all misfit. This might be an embarassing defeat for india. Lets hope for the best and hope india wins as that would put Aussies under pressure and we might have our chance to defeat the best cricket team in the world.

I am certainly no Yunis Khan fan, but I would'nt play Salman Butt in this match. The last thing you want to do to a 20 year old guy is make him play his first ODI against Oz where he could easily get out on duck. Yunis is a vet so let him do his thing.

In more interesting news, anybody else read that Afridi and Malik are both bowling some kind of new balls and thats why they had so much success against India.
Afirid supposedly is doing some kind of off spinning balls along with his fast leg breaks. Malik I read somewhere has a teesra or something going for him. If anybody has more info on this post it please.

Afridi has been bowling these off breaks since last worldcup. He bowled em against India in Pakistan and did that again the day before. He appeared to have mastered it quite well enough.

Yeah it seems like he has mastered it now...becaue he used to bowl 1 or 2 in a whole match but he was bowling a lot more in the last match against India, he had the batsmen on their toes, guessing, wud it be a leg break or off break.

But I think the woolmer-effect has made a good impression. Did any of you heard this from Woolmer in the begining of the match in response to a question

** Pakistan is the MOST disciplined team I have ever worked with.**

I mean that remark alone is something.

 :hula: :silly: :jhanda: :bhangra: :nuch:

Yes pakistan into the finals for sure ! I am so happy because usually pakistan is the opposite way. Lurking and barely making towards the semi’s forget making into the finals.

I tell you guys, If pakistan get straight 2 wins against Aussies ( Which i am sure will happen ) Pakistan will be ranked No. 1 in ICC cup.

But I personally think they should play and loose in this useless match and learn from their weakness and play it against them with some serious planing and win the videocon cup. InshAllah pakistan will win neverthless.

Did anybody hear Arun Lall calling Paki’s Fav’s against Aussies ? Yumm thats good news fo sure..

I have supported Younis Khan for sometime now, but i think this really should be his last chance. If he really said no to coming in at #3 then i say screw him. He was considered to be the possible captain of the future after the last world cup disaster but he hasn't performed since then. If he doesn't do anything rest of Holland cup(2 match's against Aus) then screw him. Plus with Youhana not performing in the recent past and Inzimam getting up in age we gotta start looking for replacements.

Who are possible replacements?
Asim Kamal, Misbah Ul Haq, Bazid Khan, Faisal Iqbal, please no loozer Saleem Elahi.

I would rank these guys in this order,
Misbah Ul Haq(Inzi's little brother)
Bazid Khan
Faisal Iqbal

Misbah has gotten old by just sitting around but his average in the Pakistan A was 162! His scores were 64NO, 0, 106, 65NO, 89NO while he was captain.

Bazid Khan, they've considered for a long time now. Never seen him play. Numbers in the recent A tour were pretty good 53.75 Average.

This can have a negative effect. it is not good to go into a tournament as 'favorites'. I can't recall a single favorite slated team that actually won the tournament.

But, a win against Australia thesedays can do a world of good to any team. Bring it on.

I suppose this theory has a specific exemption for Australia. World Cup 2003 was just last year.

As far as I remember, Younis Khan gave victory to pakistan against Ausies in the last one day they played in Australia when all other Pakistani batsmen failed. Considering this, how can you rule out Younis Khan against Ausies?

I agree Younis's steady style will be an asset against the Aussies. You don't want a rookie in that game.
I don't think we will have to worry about it anyhow. The weather forecast is rainy again i beleive.

That has been done a couple of times, I believe
