so who you think going to win this match? i think the match won’t go down to wire - it could be one-sided.
this match is as important as gets - basically any side who lose this game is out of the tournament - because you ain’t gonna beat the Aussies to make things spicey - are ya?
Harbhajan Singh and Ashish Nehra have been struck with viral fever just two days before India’s first game against Pakistan in the Videocon Cup at Amsterdam. Both Harbhajan and Nehra didn’t take part in the training session on Thursday.
PTI quoted the team physio, Andrew Leipus, as saying: “Ashish is particularly bad and he is completely laid up in the bed.” Leipus himself was suffering from throat congestion and stayed away from practice. Harbhajan’s condition wasn’t too different and he expressed his anguish. “I am completely bereft of any strength in my frame. It’s difficult to even be on my legs.”
Harbhajan returned to the Indian team for the Asia Cup after a ligament tear forced him to be out of action for nearly eight months. Nehra’s illness is merely the latest setback in his already-chequered career.
However, there was some good news for the Indians when Leipus confirmed that VVS Laxman was in good shape. “The swelling has subsided completely and VVS has recovered well.”
India feature in the first two games of the tournament and take on Pakistan and Australia on August 21 and 23 respectively.
I guess I will post it again, since the new thread has just been started: The weather forecast for the entire week is very tricky, with rains and thunderstorms expected. Can anyone please verify if the rest days between matches can actually be used to continue/replay matches that may otherwise be affected by rain? For instance, if pak vs ind match is rained out on august 21, can it be played on august 22 which is the rest day?
^ At the moment there is no info available, so it seems that the match will have to be played on the scheduled day. One reason for this might be the fact that all matches are to be played on the same ground, so the ground staff might need time to prepare the ground for the following match.
BTW the match between Pakistan and India has been a sell out.
as you can well imagine, i was asking this question because i was debating whether or not to spend $100 for the 4 matches. Unlike some lucky people who get to see these matches for free, in North America you have to pay... However, the good news is that many places are showing these matches for $10/match.

India received a major setback when batting ace Sachin Tendulkar was declared doubtful for the opening match of the triangular one-day tournament in the Netherlands tomorrow.
“Tendulkar has a tennis elbow and is doubtful for tomorrow’s game,” skipper Sourav Ganguly told the Press Trust of India in Amsterdam. All-rounder Rohan Gavaskar will step in for Tendulkar in case the star opening batsman is declared unfit for the match.
India take on Pakistan in the series opener. They play world champions Australia on Monday. The third and final league match pits the Aussies against Pakistan on Wednesday. The final is scheduled for Saturday, August 28.
99% chances are there will be no match because i checked weather from 5 different places for Amsterdam/Amstelveen and its raining currently there. :( this is sad....
according to cricinfo, it rained continuously yesterday and all night last night, which leaves "almost no chance" of a 50 over game. Match is supposed to start in 15 minutes, and its still raining. I sure hope they use the rest day tomorrow to complete the match.
