So I was on chat here on GS listening to people talk and poof my sound goes out and it has not returned since. Did my sound card die? What could have happened? How do I fix this?

Your sound driver's got busted. Reinstall it. If you don't have it download it from the company's official website. Take care to download the correct driver for your model.

Well, what happened?
it tuns out that my sound didn't completely go away, just my laptop speakers weren't working and now they started working on their own, magically.
