Raza Ali Abidi (famous broadcaster) gave different view in his book ‘Jourbnaili SaRak’ or ‘Sher Darya’. He says that Akbar and other Mughals had a passion for duplicating buildings Like there was a planing for black Taj mahal similar to original Taj mahal. Similarly, there was a city with name Attock (in the part which is India now). There is another theory that due to river, some construction was delayed and therefore they named the place attack (which is delay in Hindi / Urdu).

The myth of replicating or duplicating is not correct. The black Taj Mahal was not planned to duplicate white Taj Mahal. It was planned as a mark of mourning where Shah Jahan was supposed to be buried.
