Attestation/Authentication of Documents

:salam:

My cousin applied for a job at a software company in Bahrain. The HR department asked him to provide attested copies of the certificate (equal lent certificate in Arabic). He went to education ministry of Bahrain to obtain equal lent certificate but the education ministry of Bahrain told him that u should attest it from your embassy (as he’s Pakistani). He went to the Pakistan embassy to get attested his certificate but the embassy told him they only can do countersigns on it if it is attested by ministry of foreign affairs or by the US embassy. Now he went to US embassy for attestation of his certificate. Surprisingly, he told by US embassy that his original certificates will be sent back to Washington for attestation and authentication. It may be take more than 3 months and we will not responsible in case your original certificate lost as well as we don’t think so the official who will gonna attest/sign it will be available to do.

Somehow, my cousin managed to get in touch with his friends back in states, original certificate sent to him by courier and received back in few days after getting attested from the university and Pakistan embassy in states. This how his problem resolved and got job in said software company.

Purpose of opening this thread is to share such information especially when ur moving from one place to other. Also peoples who will goona move Pakistan may also attest their all certificate i.e. birth certificate, educational certificate, marriage certificate etc etc (all relevant documents which u think is necessary) to avoid get stuck in this kind situation.

If any1 faced same kinda problem is welcome to share.

Re: Attestation/Authentication of Documents

Walaikumsalaam,

Sorry you had to go through such trouble. I know that when couple of our relatives moved to US, my dad got their stuff evaluated and certified by this place - World Education Services - International Education Intelligence. Just letting you know because it was safe and very easy, though a little expensive. and they’re recognized pretty widely too.

P.S. I’m assuming evaluating and attesting is the same thing, right?

Re: Attestation/Authentication of Documents

Safoora i was going to advise the same, however what i personally did when i had moved to Dubai temporarily I got my actual certificates attested by the skools just like OP`s friend did, I think in certain scenarios you have to ask the skool to directly send original documents but that depends :k:

Re: Attestation/Authentication of Documents

In Bahrain many many students come from abroad for study i.e. from Saudia, Dubai, Pakistan, US, UK, even some Bahrainis who completed their studies in Pakistan.

I will spread this info (about WES) among my friends so in future they’ll not face such kinda problem. :k:
