AMA Appeals to All Muslims to Support First Pakistani Candidates
For State Assembly and Senate in California, Atlanta and New Hampshire
The AMA Chapter of New Jersey appeals to all Muslim citizens of the state to
register to vote. There is an estimated population of over 350,000 Muslims
residing in New Jersey and if they are to make a political impact, they
should exercise their right to make choices in the local, state and national
elections by casting their votes. We are also reaching out to all Muslims,
and Pakistanis in particular, for supporting three Muslim Americans, Syed
Riffat mahmood, Akhtar Sadiq and Saghir Tahir, who have taken a historic step
in contesting as first Pakistani candidates for seats in State Assembly and
Senate in California, Atlanta and New Hampshire respectively. Together they
make us proud. Their optimism can only be strengthened by your active
participation in donating generously. Each dollar you contribute to their
election will be matched by their respective parties.
Syed Rifat Mahmood, is a Republican and is seeking California State Assembly
position. If you would like to help him for his campaign his address is Syed

unopposed in primary elections and has his party’s endorsement. He is a
businessman and lives in Alameda County area of California.
Akthar Sadiq, is a Democrat and is seeking Georgia State Senate position. If
you would like to support Mr. Sadiq, his address is Committee to Elect Akhtar

770-590-1800. He was also unopposed in primary elections. He is a CPA and
lives in Atlanta, Georgia.
Saghir Tahir is a Republican seeking New Hampshire’s State Assembly position.
He is confident about his position in the elections and does not seek any
contribution at this time. He however, needs your moral support by calling
him and congratulating him at 603-623-9669. He is a successful businessman
and lives in Manchester, New Hampshire.
