I’m attending a valima next month, it will be my first time attending an event like this with my 6 month old. I hope you can give me advice on what to bring etc. I’ve noticed she’s becoming uncomfortable when we go out to visit relatives and she gets quite upset because she’s in a unfamiliar environment, the only thing that works is when we put her in her pram and walk around for a while. I don’t have a car, so I’m planning on taking a cab there. I’ll only have her diaper bag, car seat and a quilt with me. In the diaper bag I’ll have diapers, wet wipes, an extra pair of clothes for baby, a few toys, a few snacks, milk and baby food.

Will you have her pram?
That seems to be the most important thing from your post....
Re: Attenting valima with my 6 month old?!? | Help!
If you baby spit a lot you might want to keep an extra outfit for yourself as well. be prepared to walk away for few minutes if she doesn't like the loudness. Good luck.

Extra bibs to go on her nice clothes
I'd take the pram (stroller?)
Extra comfortable outfit
Burp cloth

definitely take her stroller. pack more than one outfit for her and an extra for you just in case.
Re: Attenting valima with my 6 month old?!? | Help!
Please avoid kaam walay clothes that might irritate your baby. Take the stroller.
Re: Attenting valima with my 6 month old?!? | Help!
I recently tool my 4 month Olds to a wedding. Took my stroller and it kept them calm while we ate. I just moved it around with one hand back and forth while eating to keep the LOs calm.
I would recommend u not to wear long earings or chooriyan and Sony have ur hair down. My hair kept getting pulled by them so my curls became loose. I had to take off chooriyan because it was uncomfortable to hold them. And earing got pulled too.
Also don't wear clothes that may pinch your LO

Thanks everyone! I had not thought of all these things, but they do make sense! Thank you!!

I always put a blanket between me and the baby if I had to hold him/ her up on my shoulder or lap so the kaam walay kapray would not irritate the baby. If you are taking a cab, a push chair (called stroller in the U.S.) may be more practical. Umbrella strollers are less expensive. Do take snacks if the baby is on solids and multiple pacifiers/ dummies if the baby takes those as those have a habit of being thrown to the floor when one is out.
