My BIL is getting married in Lahore in April to a Pakistani girl that he met. I needed advice on where to buy outfits from in Lahore as I only have 6 days to buy my outfits before the Mehndi ceremony.
Could you recommend places where I could buy ready embroidered designs which I could just stitch to my size?
I also have to get 4 mehndi outfiits and 4 wedding outfits for my daughters (they are all aged under 10) total budget for my daughters is £250
My SIL to be offered to help but her suggestions are not to my liking … I don’t want to spend more than £100 on mehndi outfit and upto £160 for the wedding outfit for myself
I know my budget is really low but from past experience I have found that I don’t get the chance to wear heavy outfits again in the UK so I don’t want to waste money anymore. I would rather use the money to buy semi-formal and kurtas which I get more use out of.
I have ordered from Proto in the past and am really happy with her but this time I wanted the experience of going to look for outfits.
Would love it if you could give me some tips, I read through other posts and Ichra Market has been mentioned, is it better than Liberty?

Ichra is cheaper than Liberty. You can get the outfits in the budget you mentioned, but you will have to find a tailor who will stitch them quickly. You might even be able to find read toy made outfits. Ready made outfits nowadays are available in all sizes.

Ichra is cheaper than Liberty. Your budget is fine but you will have to find a tailor to stitch the outfits quickly. Find one first when you land in Lahore. You can also find ready made formals at all prices in all sizes in Pakistan now.

Jzk for the suggestions
I have taken a look at the above threads, but they are mostly about bridal clothes. My husband went earlier to Lahore to finalise the wedding arrangements, but he only went to MM Alam road, to be honest I didnt think much of the designs he whatsapped me from there or the clothes he bought back from there.
You can go to ichra ( with someone in family who knows the shops because personally I hate to go to that bazaar and know nothing abt it), anarkali (paris market) and rang mahal to buy kaam walay unstitched dresses for the event and get them stitched by your tailor in a day or two
Re: Attending BIL wedding in Lahore .. advice needed
You should start with liberty (it's got different rates from mm alam and more bargains to be found). Ichra, Anarkali, Shahalmi require a lot of know how and you can easily be swindled. Besides they're difficult to get to again and again. You could try the places after you've exhausted the shops in liberty.

Very useful advice, thank you Proto and Strangeone ... Liberty seems to be the popular choice and Rang Mahal I have never heard off so will look into that more. I guess my SI- to-be will be very busy ahead of her wedding so I doubt she will have time to guide me. I will brave the markets with my husband lol ... I'm sure whatever the prices are, they will be cheaper than the UK and more fashionable lol !
Re: Attending BIL wedding in Lahore .. advice needed
Ichara will be your cheapest option. But I would go to liberty. My mum just brought us back some lovely gowns from there and they were very reasonably priced. I think she went to the market area at the back where the tailors are not the main shops at the front. I also went shopping there when I went last year.

I bought a few formal outfits from Fortress, the more expensive ones were 9000-15000 Rs, I think that’s under your budget. I also liked Anarkali, and saw some REALLY nice outfits that were unstitched, I just dind’t have hte time/$$ to get them made :hinna:
Re: Attending BIL wedding in Lahore .. advice needed
I know people who look at clothes over Skype then chose what they want. But think that's in faisalabad. But since you have a number for someone in Ichara, I would call him n c if he can show you over Skype, this would give you a heads up over whether it would be worth u getting it from him when you go or if you should start looking elsewhere.
I will also see if I can get you a number for the place my mum got the gowns.
