**You’ve probably heard by now. Yes, it was the city I live in (not there right now, but I live there), and yes it was only 10 mins frm where I live. Stupid idiots thought they would get through the three heavily guarded checkpoints.
So freaky, came back frm school today, come into my room, and find a dozen messages and the phone ringing, and I was like, woha, whats going on. And I pick the phone up and its my uncle calling from pakistan, and he’s like “Waqas don’t worry, your family is fine in Saudi” and I was like what? And while I was asking him, I checked the messages, and my sister was tellin me how the oil facility had been attacked.
Wow, can’t believe its happenin in the city I have lived in my entire life, its not even that big of a city. What a peaceful place it used to be. You could go around wheter you’re an American, British, Pakistani…no one cared, it was like a small U.S…and now this stuff happens…Security was already so tight back home, they already had machine guns and tanks and crash barriers at every checkpoint…now when I go back, its gonna be worse, they already have helicopters patroling the houses and obviously, the Oil Processing Plant (The worlds largest, in case you didn’t read the news)
I feel so sorry about the terrible news. You are safe, and your family is safe. Thats a good thing.
I lived there Long time ago but haven't been there recently. And yes I lived in Riyadh as well. It is peaceful there. I still remember, my childhood memories.
So sorry to hear such terrible news in such a place. May Allah keep all muslims under his mercy. Ameen
**yea, Alhumdulillah the families are fine. Me and my friends were so worried when we heard the news, but shukar hai there weren't casualities, except the guards and the attackers.
Gosh, there used to be a time anyone could go into the compound without a security guy even bothering to check...and now....
**
**yea it is, lol, on the hasa-dammam highway right...its gonna be gone in a few years, there are houses on its outskirts now, abqaiq is growing pretty fast.
I guess it was just naturally there...or maybe just to prevent the sand frm the surrounding desert frm entering the city, you know those sandstorms during shamal...
Yea, was probably for the sand then...the trees are incredible at lowering the sand flow frm the desert, I guess all city's in Saudi have a lot of trees around the outer skirts for the same reason.
