ATTACK - The missing instinct

Re: ATTACK - The missing instinct

1st ODI is over and done with. India came on top with flying colors.
Having said that, a little matter of fine detailing to what I consider an ideal 50 over a side match is no secret.
Indians got 2 centurions & 1 five wicket hauler and 3 excellent out field catches including
Numerous sure shot run savers were the 'true combined team efforts' a skipper can dream about.
It was like hungry pups are thrown a live 'feed' to feast on, there was no 'toying around' this time.
In contrast to the 'cornered tigers' that were well fed on the last week's feast, was no match to 'Dada's army' this time out.

Again an experiment at the top order foiled the expectations. I'm not the captain's material at all, but can say this much, I would never have planted Kamran on the uno spot knowing that Shahid Afridi has the experience of opening the innings for Pakistan in India. And with quite a few successes too.

The Idea of importing Hafeez would have been to set him up as an opener along side Mr. Afridi but that was not to be.

So what was the main reason or urgency to bring him for ODI setup?

If some one dares to tell me that Hafeez was there to merely throw 10 overs of an economical spell and fulfill his requirements with a bat? This is stupidity of the worse kind.

Departed Kaneria could have taken over this makeshift role and would have held on to some vital catches and could have scored 10-20 plus runs too. This would have been an automatic choice due to his match fitness and time spent in India.

Main culprits are the selectors and PCB's adhoc philosophy on almost every matter.
Since the 'Adhoc' gurus are still in play, such results would be imminent and more
Frequent as the series progresses.

Inzimam came out from his shell and proved few points during the 'Test series'.
In OD matches his aggressiveness and body language might have been responsible for his sudden lack of focus and brain function.
I can also blame the Cochi's hot weather not suitable for playing cricket, but the point of the matter is that both teams were equally handicapped weather-wise so that point is irrelevant.

Re: ATTACK - The missing instinct

The faulty cricket we see, these kids playing...is only a byproduct of some of the wrongs being down higher up in the PCB ranks.

Re: ATTACK - The missing instinct

Awee,Shoiab Akhter!,forgive them, They not know for what they do , :smack2:

Re: ATTACK - The missing instinct

^^ When Pakistan was hammered for 349 odd, Shoaib was playing. So that doesnt mean he stops runs automatically.

Point is, we dont have to bring old threads up after eah match to start previuosly discussed endless discussions again and again.

Re: ATTACK - The missing instinct

You can be both .. mediocre like australia used to be and bottom half of chart like west indies…that is almost accomplished.

Re: ATTACK - The missing instinct

What's wrong in saying without Shoab Aktar, the pakistan team is of a reduced calibre? Only people like Sachin and Laxman when they're in their best touch, can counter attack Aktar. And they clearly are not in their best form.

Without Shoab Aktar, pakistan has basically made good the lack form of India's stars, for India.

Re: ATTACK - The missing instinct

Why do people like you forget that even when he was in the team, we have lost matches and played like mediocre?

Re: ATTACK - The missing instinct

^^ Not True ,,, ab etna bhi bura waqt Pakistan per pehlay kabhi nahi aya tha,,,,,
Those who shred their warriors ,, don't win wars - just Battles
Shoiab Akhtercould have made one hell of a difference. No doubt .
Also the so called depth in India batting is also a myth. That how it has been proven so far...:D
