****FAISALABAD: Four convicts involved in an attack on former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf were hanged on Sunday at a district jail in Faisalabad.
The convicts Ghulam Sarwar Bhatti , Zubair Ahmed, Rasheed Qureshi and Russian citizen Akhlaque Ahmed alias Roosi were taken to the gallows at 3:30pm.
Late on Saturday night, the convicts were shifted from Faisalabad Central jail to the death cell of the district jail under tight security.
Sources in the jail confirmed convicts have met their family members for a farewell meeting as per codal requirements of prison laws.
There were conflicting reports regarding the hanging as some sources claimed the execution of only two death-row prisoners was pending while the execution of the other two had already been carried out.
Ahmad, Bhatti, Qureshi, Roosi were the co-accused of Arshad Mehrban and were given death penalty by a military court.
Mehrban was the first to be sent to the gallows as the ban on death penalty was lifted after six years following the Peshawar school massacre.
Army chief General Raheel Sharif hadsigned the death warrants of these convicts.

Attempted murder? 17 people were killed in this attack. How is that an attempted murder?

Bugti was a traitor. He got his punishment.

Exactly. Because all I have seen is mention of these guys being responsible for the attack on Musharraf, and never about the other 17. So news reporters need to be clear on this. Is he hanged for attack on Musharraf, or murder of 17 innocents?

Who knows those 17 victims? Do their names increase rating of the news outlet. If not, then the heading is justified. This is the harsh reality of our society.

According to news item, they were hanged because of attack on coward tin commando. I don't see 17 people's death in the news item.

I have a question about these hangings.

So these are the killers who did not blow themselves up with others and were caught.

How does hanging them control the brainwashed and dreaded suicide bombers ?

It looks like the suicide bombers are a different breed from the ones who were caught and are now being hanged.

The killers responsible for the Peshawar massacre clearly didn't expect to come out of it alive and one blew himself up.
How do you control them ? They are the nastiest and the most dangerous killers.
