Re: Attack on Karachi Airport
I see every second person throwing this nauseating cliché around as if they’re commenting on latest addition of Call of Duty. What does it even mean? Carpet bombing of Karachi/FATA? We’re not talking about trench warfare in a no man’s land where armies can afford to ‘go all out’ and come home.
Really I don’t see the point of such rhetorical gimmickry. You know it, I know it and the entire world knows that Pakistani military posses the weaponry, man power and even the will to go ‘all out there’, but is it really the most viable solution? An mega international effort was made to go ‘all out in Afghanistan’ in to defeat the same creatures, but the end results is for everyone to see.
I understand that there’s going to be endless cries coming out of knee jerk reaction, but some of the sane minds must make effort to realise that last three months had been the most peaceful Pakistan had ever seen since the intensification of the war nearly ten years ago. So really, without going ‘all out’ to please the excited spectators, Pakistan army must be doing something right to achieve that feat. The war hasn’t concluded yet, but Pakistan sure has the upper hand. The army is certainly getting its way both by negotiations and strikes.
During the course of active war in Afghanistan and Iraq, most of the high profile areas and targets in Western world had been on high alert. Same was the case with Karachi Airport, it is the failure of local security and management that turned into a catastrophe. All this could have been avoided.
The people whose only intention is to create a panic, confusion, mistrust and defeatism amongst Pakistanis need to back off! This is not how wars are won.
