Oh come on you can’t be so naive. Reality is that there is no way to control these madrassas/schools & all previous attempts to control, regulate or reform them have failed b/c of resistance from mullahs. Lal masjid is one good example. The burka mullah who controls that masjid is in defacto occupation of state land, but refused to vacate it despite all that happened there. The fact is state is weak. Police and laws enforcement officials are corrupt & ANYTHING can be done in the name of Islam & no one will question.

I understand what you are saying. I realize what I’m saying may sound naive, but Pakistan has to start somewhere. Madrassah folks force the government to allow foreign funding? Or is it because Government turns a blind eye because they care more about the votes they’ll generate from there? Start with corruption, start with proper educational funding, start somewhere. When people have the choice to go to a school of own choosing because the government will afford it for them, then those misguided ones that misguide others will lose influence gradually. What’re they gonna do, drag people out of better educational institutions?
