So you believe that Pakistan was this innocent bystander that got sucked into the Cold War between USA and USSR in Afghanistan.

Have you forgotten that after Afghanistan, Balochistan was the next target for USSR as the BLA had many communist sympathizers and India was already goading USSR to attack and capture Balochistan from Pakistan.

It was 100% in Pakistan’s interest to defeat the Soviets in Afghanistan.

Defeating USSR was in Pakistan’s interest but that does not mean that it had to become a question of “ideology”. Pakistan was involved but it was not Pakistan designing the bringing down, only providing manpower and logistics.
