First retaliation (of TTP) over the reopening of of Nato supply routes. DPC cannot directly involve in such an attack and if TTP/others wanted to hit DPC (Hakimullah deplored DPC), they would have done it easily.
But it seems pretty simple to me that it was a retaliatory action from the rigid elements over Nato routes issue.

First and foremost, our condolences go to the friends and families of the brave security personnel who got killed in this cruel act of terror. We hope to see the ones responsible caught and punished to the fullest extent of the law. It is no secret that the nation of Pakistan has been plagued with terrorism in recent times. We regularly see terrorist organizations like the TTP and the Haqqani network claim responsibility for their terrorist attacks. They’ve left very little to ponder regarding their evil motives. These terrorists are fully focused on destabilizing the country for the sake of achieving their evil agenda. Yet, we continue to fall victim to conspiracy theories, and many of us fail to separate facts from fiction. We have repeatedly said that we cannot have a stable region without a stable Pakistan. We encourage Pakistan to go after those who are looking to infiltrate the country with their acts of terror. It is simply in the best interest of both nations to see the region thrive in peace. We fully support Pakistan in its fight against terror, and hope to help each other in achieving our shared objectives.

So when will the Americans operate against TTP’s sanctuaries in Eastern Afghanistan? As far as Pakistan being plagued by terrorism is concerned, we need to thank American policies in the region for that.

its very much possible, this attack is in reponse to resumption of nato supply routes. TTP had threatened earlier that they will carry out such attacks,
However, I read somewhere, that Afghan Taliban are actually rejoicing that nato routes have reopened, because their supply of cash will also re-open.

its actually TTP job, investigation reports have indicated that terrorist linked is with TTP.
Earlier, Punjab government ignored warnings from the intelligence where they were asked to monitor suspicious activities of people under the cover of DPC, most of these terrorists were seen in DPC rally.
