There has been a grenade attack on a US army base in Kuwait, injuring at least ten soldiers, according to reports.
The attack is understood to have been carried out by two men - possibly Kuwaiti nationals.
A US military official the incident occurred at Camp Pennsylvania near the Iraqi border.
The official did not identify the unit of the 101st Airborne Division that was in the camp. He said it had been in Kuwait for about one week.
But Jim Lacey, a correspondent for Time magazine who was at the camp, told CNN two grenades had been rolled into the command tent, in what appeared to be a “terrorist attack”.

Looks like US troops are getting a test of their own medicine. Funny how its termed terrorism when it happens against them.
I think it is too early too jump to conclusions. Muslim soldiers in the US armed forces are aligned with our interests. Even if it is one bad apple, it is one bad American apple, religion has nothing to do with it.

Yep... I dont know if it was a muslim soldier but what I heard on the media is that a US soldier is being questioned about this!
If Its a muslim soldier, then american soldier themselve well stay on alert from other soldiers.
How could such a thing could happen to the world peacemakers scarastic but still sad. What will this all lead to. I wonder if the american soldiers question their own mission.
err they were saying in the news that the soldier belongs to islam. where is this written, doesn anyone knows if he does.

A military spokesman said two grenades had been rolled into a command tent in Camp Pennsylvania, the base of the 101st US Airborne Division.
Eleven soldiers were evacuated to field hospitals in the area, while two others were treated at the scene.
However, military sources said one man had later died of his injuries.
“The carnage was pretty severe,” said journalist Jim Lacey from Time magazine, who was at the camp at the time.
Camp Pennsylvania occupies a large area of Kuwaiti desert and initially it was suggested a terrorist might have breached the tight security at the base.
But the suspect is a serving soldier belonging to the division.
The incident has provoked shock and utter disbelief among the troops that one of their own might have been involved.
US Army spokesman Max Blumenfeld said the motive for the attack “most likely was resentment”.

But two other grenades thrown into tents where the unit’s majors and captains sleep did explode, injuring Col Hodges as he ran out of the first tent.
Ramsay watched as the suspect, an engineer from the 327th infantry assigned to the 101st Airborne Division, was held.
“It appears he was hiding in a bunker near where the attacks happened,” Ramsay said. **
Some people will say this is a good thinjg, if it was a muslim. However if this does turn out to be the case, I can’t see how some kind of backlash against muslims in the US can be avoided.

I dont understand if he is then they would know for sure that the soldier who killed his own people is one - or they dont ask this question in the army --
But all this beating around the bush about his religion is somehow fishy ..
Personally I think officially they haven't released who the guy is although they must know who he is, so rumours are going round that he is muslim. Thats why some sites are saying nothing on who the guy is. Until they give an official statement on it, we won't know for sure.
