what is atlantis?
a stupid myth written by a greek historian who was drunk at that time.
The greek philosopher Plato told the story of Atlantis in 360 BCE in two of his dialogues, the Tiamios and the Kritias. Plato tells the story of Atlantis through his character Kritias whose great-grandfather Dropides was a relative and close friend of Solon, an Athenean lagislator and philosopher. Solon himslef was told this story by an egyptian priest in Sais, the then capital of lower Egypt.
Atlantis was a huge Island, bigger than Asia Minor and Libya together and situated across the Pillars of Herakles. Around 9000 years before Solon Atlantis shall have been a big and powerful kingdom. The Atlantean, whose kingdom was streched from Egypt in the east to Tyrrhia in the north, decided to conquer the whole mediterranean world. But the greeks defeated them after a bloody war and thus perpetuated their and the freedom of other nations.However, severe earthquakes and inundations sank the whole island into the Atlantic ocean in one day and one night. The whole greek army was also destroyed.
No one knows whether Atlantis really existed. Even Aristotle didn't believe it...
BUt Still Some of the Ppl who Research on Pre Historic Stuff Belive ..... It was a CONTINENT....

That's the dispute !!! ... No one knows the true location of it. !! I believe it's around CHINA... because Aryans were the decscendants of Atlantian people....!! some say it's by the iceland, but that's far from my comprehension..
one would expect that the modern infrared and radiographic technologies researches would have skimmed the seas to find any remains of a lost civilization.
however, I do remember a documentary on discovery channel where they found some remains of an ancient city in the
Mediterranean Sea

How do you know that???
There are hundreds of "candidates" for atlantis almost all over the globe but i think none of them are atlantis, as it was just a myth. Plato had a pint too much that night.
