Athlete's foot

I think I’ve got athlete’s foot problem. I’ve been having scratchy and scaling sort of skin on the middle bottom/sole part of my right foot with blisters. It’s not the whole area but just a patch in the middle. I’ve had this problem for past couple of months or so. I didn’t pay much attention at first but then I continued to have blistered every other day on that part of the foot. I’m using Limsale (or something like that) for past couple of days, which is an over-the-counter spray treatment.

Has anyone else ever had similiar form of AF? How did you treat it? How long did it take? Thanks.

Are your sneakers too tight or too loose?. Usually a foot that slips in the shoe causes blisters. So, get a shoe that fits when you are doing outdoor activities for longer periods.

They also sell gel pads that you can slip inisde your sneakers. It gives support and keeps your feet dry. Do you bowl fast?

nah, this is not related to sneakers or anything... this started even little before the summer Cricket. Also, shoes fit perfectly.

I did have a little effect of this on my right hand index finger which got scaling a month or so ago, which is pretty much consistent with the general literature available on WebMd, that the infection can spread to other parts of the body.

You may have fungus. It’s a virus, and you usually get it by walking barefoot in men’s lockers at a gym. The best treatment is Dr. Scholl’s (something called ‘sal’ acid – or goes by some similar sounding name). Apply as instructed, and your spot will go away within a couple of months. Secondly, make sure that the spot is tightly sealed (duct tape works the best) as it can spread on other parts of the foot. First apply acid, let it dry, then cover your foot with ducttape.

WHy duct tape and not some other medical tape?.

Try 'Canesten ® AF Cream'

Daktarin is also quite good.

mate, I got athlete's foot back in the college days when I had a little tight football shoes on and my senior made me run 7 or 8 oval rounds,,, and i got cuts between my toes,, i never paid attention to them and GOD! i developed the worst ever tinea pedis... i suffered for a whole 3 months,,, it was quite aweful,,, soo aweful that at one stage i wished i had no feet!

khair,, went to the docs, got an extensive treatment, had to soak my feet in that purple crystals mixed with water... damn,, cant even remember the name,,, considering we did so many titration experiments in the chemistry labs... followed by 2 different types of creams 3 times a day... a pain in the arse.. khair that treatment kept it under control, but didnt really help it get much better,,, and then as i was admitted to our college hospital, our vice principal (a biology teacher)came for a round, and he looked at my feet and said, hay use betnovate lotion..... the next day he brought me one....

i used it...
and the very first day.... the puss was gone,,, and i got better quite rapidly after that...
so i,d suggest betnovate lotion. dunno how to spell it,, and dunno if its available in america,, could be sold under another name.

runs out screaming

kaka, if I vomit in the next ten minutes, it's all your fault!

FREAK!

lol, that doesn't even look like a foot. :D

I would have to agree with Sadi though ... all feet regardless of their condition are disgusting.

Ugh this thread is just begging for an invitation from u know who showing his u know wht!

PS:U know whose foot is still uglier. :snooty:

Sobi and Mehnaz you guys are serious??? My mum has the prettiest feet and I have no qualms holding them or massaging them for her  and a baby’s feet

Babies feet are different. Overall, everything about babies are cute. Not adult feet though. Mind you, I also massage my mama’s feet cause everything about her is cute.

Personally, I have feet like a hobbit. That’s why I don’t like feet.

babies toes are like little pink shells

this thread is not about stupid babies and stupid feet, so all u stupid women can piss off :hoonh: , we men are dicussing some very important disease. :smooth:

waisay i seriously am scarred for life, after looking at that pic.. GOD thats horrible!

:grumpy:

romani pa jee as this disease is contagious i suggest u make a appointment wth a dermatologist asap or u could try anti-fungal creams or drying powders + change ur socks frequently and if u go to swimming pool wear slippers + try to wash ur feet daily provided u don't already do that and wash well in between toes...

mehnaz ... ;)

roman,,, the most important lesson i,ve learnt from my ordeal is....

keep your feet dry....

make sure u dry ur feet after taking a shower... its VERY important. keep the gaps between the toes totally dry,,, and as a precaution u can always use anti fungal and anti tinea powders in ur general life as well.
