Atheism and Veganism

I am sensing a very strong connection between those who dont believe in higher power or a creator, and those who dont eat meat at least.

Is that true? What not following a religion has to do with not following the circle of life?

Re: Atheism and Veganism

I don’t think there would be any correlation between what you eat and worship. Veganism is down to whether you find killing animals for food cruel or not and not whether there is a God.

Re: Atheism and Veganism

Yes, but i have couple of friend who are atheist and dont eat meat by choice. I sensed the same on GS. I want to know if there is a confirmed connection or not.

Re: Atheism and Veganism

:hmmm: Do they give reasons as to why they don’t eat meat?

Re: Atheism and Veganism

Mainly for their out of respect for life and animal rights kind of thing. Couple of them I know are activist in PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals)

Re: Atheism and Veganism

Also from carbon footprint POV. Vegans tend to be green (not the jealousy kind)

You mean they don’t pass as much gas?

Re: Atheism and Veganism

its other way around. From carbon foot print POV they break even.

Re: Atheism and Veganism

they both are signs of being aware, and having working brain.

Re: Atheism and Veganism

correlation does not equal causation

Re: Atheism and Veganism

hahahahha

Re: Atheism and Veganism

Only if DNA of one person matches the other exactly, will the gas flow rate and cumulative volume over lifetime match exactly. This doesn’t mean that due due to randomness two or more individuals won’t mirror each others gas flow in rate volume and intensity.

Re: Atheism and Veganism

a huge number of people [over 800 million in India alone] who follow Hinduism are vegans and they believe in gods and ONE supreme God.

Re: Atheism and Veganism

i have noticed that atheists are kinder.

Re: Atheism and Veganism

yeah, to other atheists

Like here on GS
