The songs sung by this great singer were available in India some 6 to 7 years back(dont remember exactly).He became an instant hit with numbers like:
1.Ashkon ke leke dhaare,be aas besahare,lo kooch kar rahe hain hum shahar se tumhare.
2.Mujhko dafna kar wo jab waaps jayenge
Saath raqibon ke wo jashan manayenge
And Punjabi and Multani somgs-they are just great.Now we have almost 60 volumes of his cassettes available here.
Atta Ullah Eissa Khelvi has some really great numbers to his credit. Among one of the best and my most favorite is "O thaiwa." Sadly enough I think his albums are very hard to locate both online and in stores.
he's got another album out my fav from it is 'pehle tarih ko ayee ka mera chand sehzada, bout month ago he came to our town to do a show, i could'nt beleive it, he is a big star and he came to perform in ur little town with noor jan daughter
His cassettes are freely available in India-may be pirated ones.I have atleast 40 of them.His urdu ones like Ashkon ke leke dharey,Doli uthi hai uski shehnaiyon ke saath ,meri uthi hai maiyat ruswaiyon ke saath are quite popular.

I have some of his songs on audio casettes 6 yrs old.from India.Wasnt he the one who was accused of murdring someone was it his beloved or' Raqib 'Or am i confusing him with another singer who became popular in india from Pakistan 6 yrs ago.I think it was ASttaukllah Khan .What do you mean by AHLEVI is that his complete name???

His name is Attaullah Khan for sure.And yes he is the one about whom we heard rumours mentioned by you.
