Nuts etc to the Biryani..
I’m almost done with the chicken part. When should I add almonds.
What else do u add in a Biryani?

oh man, my mum once put raisins in biryani. there was a riot. sometimes for giggles, when my mum is making biryani, i go and tell my brothers that mum's putting raisins in. they are all "noooOOOoOOooOOOOOOO" and rush to the kitchen to stop her.

At my place , i dislike raisins with a passion and try to ignore them as much as possible .. husband , on the other hand, loves them to bits .. and when ever I am making something that needs to have nuts in , he comes running into the kitchen and says mai khud daloo ga
Mrs Cupcake , like many posters said above, the best time to add the nuts and raisins is just before dum .. or if you like them soft, then add them when the rice is half cooked.

Personally I don't like nuts or raisins in Biryani.
And I thot to giv it a try but ended up not too..

Arabs put chilghosay , pine nuts to their biryani , and they taste quite good.

you feed the almonds to the goat for a week. then chop it up. thats the best way.
