At the Doors of Safar :)

Re: At the Doors of Safar :)

I think it stems from the idea that it follows Muharram and some people include the beginning days of Saffar (i think till the 13th) in their 'mourning' (pardon me if this is incorrect, as I am not 100% sure).

I asked my mum n cousin about this 'superstitious' attitude toward the month of Saffar, we are in the Punjab of Pakistan at the moment and they didn't really know of the phenomenon except that people refrained from marriages, business deals, journeys because it was just after Muharram. I don't quite see the logic myself, considering what we have been taught about mourning.

I looked for anything I could find on Saffar and only found, so far, ahadith which emphasize that it is not ominous or cursed. But I am still searching and if I find anything, will post it inshaAllah.

I'll also keep an ear out the next few days and try n identify some of this mysterious literature that brother Faisal says is being quoted.
