AT&T Says “No More” to Customer Service Outsourcing
AT&T finds that outsourcing doesn’t always pay off
*A poster on DSLreports.com complains that AT&T’s “India tech support doesn’t know anything.”
*Looks like AT&T finally came to it’s senses.. how long before the rest of the gang realizes the ill effects of outsourcing to third grade places..](“http://www.dailytech.com/Article.aspx?newsid=4297”)
Re: AT&T to move jobs back to the USA
Not every call center job is wise being out sourced. For example, my neighbours/co-workers aren't shy to say that they get uncomfortable with a foreign accent on the other line when they call about their Credit Card or something financially sensitive like their mortgage. The same people have no problem talking to someone in India regarding a phone bill ... I guess not.
Not to mention it was only natural that with other countries also trying to get the outsourcing revenue that India's boom will come in line with the greater market supply and demand.
Anyway, the other day I heard of NPR that in the next coming year or two Mexico is producing as much engineers as USA hoping that the outsourcing will come their way. According to the report, they will earn roughly the same amount as engineers in China/India.
