Yesterday I got a problem with one of my PC… Its that the keyboard and mouse both are not working in windows and is also hard to get into BIOS but some how it is possible. I even reinstalled the windows. But here is how I did.
Keyboard only work when I deattach the Mouse both are PS2 and are plugged into right given ports. I worked with keyboard with deattached mouse and the keyboard work fine even in window. I even checked IRQ’s configuration, played and resorted it too but no use…! when both are plugged in, I even cant get into BIOS. BUT the keyboard work fine at OS selection or OS booting options but before and after that it dies away. I even uninstalled Mouse drivers to check whether that may be the reason and tried to boot it up again with mouse plugged in get to the same problem. I tried with USB mouse and PS2 keyboard then both works fine.
So what I am upto is either the IRQs are still conflicting or the PS2 ports have lived their life or atleast the mouse’s PS2.
Any suggestion? I want it urgently (SOFORT ) for the time being I am googling for the solution.

once ur into windows using ur usb mouse go to device manager and remove/unistall the port for ur mouse/keyboard, restart windows and it should automaticallty pick it up and reinstall?
You have to tell us how this all started. There was a power shutdown, or you installed something new, or automatic update installed something or you dropped something????
If it is a special mouse, it will require its own drivers for full functionality.
However, my bet is shorted wires inside the mouse.
Considering it was only "one of your comptuers" why don't u swap out the muose with another PC and see if it resolves the issue. Always remember the cost-benefit rule. Considering mice are about $2 items now I'd just replace it.
