Ok im torn.
An at home nanny can provide her undivided attention
to my son and follow my rules 100%. Plus baby isnt
exposed to the germs from other kids, no strict routines to follow, one
care taker only besides parents. Can be cpr trained, certified
etc but theres no absolute guarantee that she will know
or have experienced what to do in case of emergency.
At daycare, he is exposed to other children, learns how to
be social, everyday routine prepares him for school, daycares
have strict guidelines to follow to be liscenced so small things
like how milk is stored n heated or exactly which foods are fed
or how many hrs of naptime vs playtime child is getting is monitored
and reported to parent.
As the parent, daycare pickup n drop of is enough of an inconvenience
for me to just get a nanny. But whats best for baby???
Anyone have experience with either???
monitored very well. Things like cpr training and other safety
measures are guaranteed.
Re: At home nanny vs daycare
P.s. My son is 8 mnths old so interacting with friends isnt something he does or will be doing for a while. Also i will be putting nanny cams at home just like the ones they have at the daycares im considering. Either way i will be able to log on and check up on baby.
Re: At home nanny vs daycare
My son just started daycare.... And is finally settled after a month long struggle.... It was the besr decision ever! He is 2 though...
The monkey see monkey do act is THE best thing that can happen to ure developing child at daycare.... My son couldnt eat with a fork spoon and knife properly .... Now he has aced it...just by watching other kids... Ok i know ure kid is too young for this but he needs to start now to be able to learn....
8 months isnt too young to socialize... Dont underestimate .... There is a 9 month old at the daycare too and boy he eats himself... Tries to put on his shoes himself, plays woth the much older kids (2yr olds).... His mom is amazed at how much he has learned at daycare by watching his peers.... I thinks its wonderful how they can learn to be so independant...
As for germs... Catching everything at daycare makes their immune system stronger.... They need to get sick in otder to get stronger...
Nanny at home is a good option too... But i dont know... My kid is flourishing at daycare.
My exp may not be the same of other mothers with kids at daycare cuz im in europe... I dont know how daycares are run in US or elsewhere....

Loved my nanny when I was working, great if you can afford one.
