yeh its an assignment of enviromental geology, not purely associated with geology but it is ................ can't help, i ahve to do it when i don't.
actually the main aim is to look for the hazards that are asociated if hospital waste r not properly disposed off. and what r the methods n practices and standards for this management.

Did you google harzadous hospital waste disposal. otherwise just try plain waste disposal. both of these will bring up information that you can use.
Basically with hospital waste you are dealing with a couple of issues:
1) Harzadous waste such as radioactive materials, chemicals etc
which can leach into the soil or water table if not disposed properly and hence constitute a health hazard. Also include in this the research waste.
2) Organic waste such as tissues, blood which decomposes and may also contain diseases.
3) used instruments/equipment which needs to be either recycled or disposed appropriately.
4)The common waste: paper etc.
Each of these presents its own problems and you would need to do some research on how they should be disposed of to find out what the problems are.
hmcq has given a good list of issues… I’d add the issue of recycling of medical plastic wastes
