I'm playing as infiltrator class, which I'm regretting since Tech abilities seem rather useless. Then again, the only shielded enemies I faced so far was a close-quarters firefight, so didn't really get an effective chance to use the abilities.
On the other hand, the fact that Infiltrators can quickly be trained on sniper rifles seems to be useful at times.
The squad I'm using has Sgt Williams, the human soldier as an Assault Rifle expert, and the human Sentinal leiutenant (can't remember his name). He's half tech and half biotic, but I'm developing his talent points mainly in biotic skills. His Lift power is great for taking enemies out of the fight for a few seconds while you pummel them.
I'm not using any of the aliens. I hate the way the Krogan looks (ridiculously big body with tiny gun by comparison) and the others I don't need, since my character has tech skills and Sgt Williams brings combat power.
Williams? Is that the girl you meet on Eden Prime? The half tech/biotic guy, that's Kaidan, right? Right now my current squad is made up of Garrus and Tali. One thing I really like about the game is that every one gains experience/levels whether they're with the active squad or not. I think I missed one of the characters though, not sure which one. If you look at the squad screen (where you assemble your squad), it's the third character from the left. Any idea who that is and how you're supposed to recruit them?
