Asalam Alaikum
well i was in a mosque in pak.. and i was readin sumfin..
it said.. many ppl these days say.. salam alaikum.. which means " death be apon u"..
thats y it was said to say it corect. i mean u ddint littearlly mean death be apon the other person.. bt still if a person whose native language is arabic.. might get it offencive.. so best is to say.. As Salam Alaikum
Allah hafiz means = if i am correct.. it its alll in the Hands of Allah now..
Allah hafiz
Re: Assalam Alaikum..NOT
Really? Ok better say the first ‘A’ too then ![]()
Oh and Walaikum Asalam…
Khudafice ![]()
Re: Assalam Alaikum..NOT
i heard that too
Re: Assalam Alaikum..NOT
i think that (death be upon you) would be Assaam u alaikum, without the the L.
Re: Assalam Alaikum..NOT
More popular amoing kids in toronto these days is: 'Daafizz yo!

Re: Assalam Alaikum..NOT
shuldnt it be slaaaaaaaaaaaaaalekummmmmm?
Re: Assalam Alaikum..NOT
Usually when amongst family and relatives, it's 'as-la-lay-kum'. When with friends, it's 'sala-ma-laykum'.
I think both are incorrect. Gotta learn to do it correct 'Assalamo alaykum'.
There's nothing too offensive about a person replying with 'Assalamo alaykum'. It's better than not receiving a reply at all.
Re: Assalam Alaikum..NOT
LOL! I know, my 12 yr. old bro says that jokingly sometimes, and all we have to do is give a dirty look then he says it correctly ![]()
I remember when we were little, we cudn’t say it the rite way…and so we wud say “thafis”…and my other bro (who’s 21) still says it sometimes, i always have to remind him not to…guess it became a habit…
But yea, i always say “Asalamalaikum” and “Walaikum Asalam” and “Khudafice”…even though, once many yrs. ago, i heard my Khala say “Allahafice” and i was confused…and then she was telling my Mum that she stopped saying the word “Khudafice”, cos in Islam/Quran, Khuda is not used…therefore she uses Allah ![]()
Re: Assalam Alaikum..NOT
^ Yeah i see that in people alot. Khuda is a persian word and it could mean either god (ilah) or God (Allah). Since it isnt an exact representation of the essence of the arabic word 'Allah', people try to avoid using that word.

Captain Lota
Re: Assalam Alaikum..NOT
not khudafice or allahfice
but khuda-hafiz or allah-hafiz
whichever one you want to use,
just thought i would clear this one up too.
Re: Assalam Alaikum..NOT
its not Assalam Alaikum
its As-Salaam-O-Alaikum
Re: Assalam Alaikum..NOT
My cousin, when she ran up to us says, “asa asa asa lama laykummmmmm” She was four at the time hehe ![]()
Re: Assalam Alaikum..NOT
Well, when Muslims say it it’s Khuda, not khuda…and since there’s no way to pronounce capital letters…let’s just stick with this as a rule of thumb…![]()
Re: Assalam Alaikum..NOT
i second that…it is saam alaikum or assaam alaikum which means death be upon you in arabic
Re: Assalam Alaikum..NOT
Hmm, they sound quite the same to me
only difference being the “Z’s” at the end rite…but it comes out the same no? Well, thanks anyway ![]()
Re: Assalam Alaikum..NOT
Kashmiri raindrops...
Its khuda hafiz.. not khudafice.... when you say khuda hafiz,, it means may Allah be your hafiz,, meaning protector... and khudafice means nothing at all. Them sounding similar has nothing to do with it, you didnt even know what the word was, and thats what Fraudia corrected.
khuda hafiz.
Re: Assalam Alaikum..NOT
No actually i did know wot that word was…wot he corrected me about was the spelling…
I was saying that some ppl say the Allah hafice and some ppl say the Khuda hafice…he told me i cud say either one, but to not end them in -ce, but in -z…
So i just said that they actually just sound the same, so does it even make a difference how u spell it? The main thing for me was which one is correct to say Allahafiz or Khudafiz, not the spelling.
Re: Assalam Alaikum..NOT
You are absolutely correct! It is Assalaam-O-Alaikum! Any time some one returns my AOA with an AOA i then reply with a Wa-Alaikum-us-Salaam cause it seems incomplete just to leave it at that. I learnt this in 95 from a female DJ on the radio fm 100 from islamabad i think it was the stations style to say ‘aoa pakistan’ and if a caller would reply to her aoa on air with an aoa she would always go to Wa-Alaikum-us-Salaam.
