I am an event planner. Weddings, theater shows, parties, conferences -- and then some.
Its always hard to break into a business like event planning. More than a degree, experience counts. You can never walk into a company and apply for the event director's job based on a degree. You will have to build up to that. My advice would be to find a company that inspires you, apply, gain experience in whatever position they hire you in. If you are bright and responsible, before long, you'll be promoted and they will see your potential. Then, you can either continue with them or look for more opportunities.
