:)Does anyone her want to be a wedding planner? Well I am an aspiring event planner but I really love weddings, im taking classes at a community college for now, but my major is hospitality - event management. Is anyone else fresh into the biz> and can lend a helping hand in getting me to the right direction. im looking for experience in the Orlando area! I would appreciate it!

I am an event planner. Weddings, theater shows, parties, conferences -- and then some.
Its always hard to break into a business like event planning. More than a degree, experience counts. You can never walk into a company and apply for the event director's job based on a degree. You will have to build up to that. My advice would be to find a company that inspires you, apply, gain experience in whatever position they hire you in. If you are bright and responsible, before long, you'll be promoted and they will see your potential. Then, you can either continue with them or look for more opportunities.

i want to start a mehndi deco company. i have no degree.... or diploma. but i still want to do it. right now can't invest so much money. but in a year or two InshAllah. will do something for sure.
I agree that u can learn from degree or diploma. its ur own brain which works the best.

hey theres this bridal consultancy/ wedding planning group on yahoo i think u ppl should join though they r from west they r very helpful and u can get new ideas from there.....I have just stepped into this business with a wedding planning company from lahore known as EHTAMAM

^ Nice to hear Pakistan has begun establishing such companies too. I am in the US but eventually plan to starting an EP company in Pakistan.

n1chole well i live in miami and orlando isnt tht far. we usually have wedding planners from orlando come over and decorate the halls and stuff for the wedding and wht not. and it just spreads by word of mouth or if ppl like ur work.
