Re: aspartame?
I have never had a doctor tell me that artificial sweetners are bad. It took me a lot of will power to switch to artificial sweetners in my chai from sugar. :(.
Re: aspartame?
I even heard that Splenda is not good. And it's made from sugar.
Re: aspartame?
most chemical are not safe…but you know not every single smoker does NOT die of lung cancer., just some:halo:…so take the bet and gamble with your life if you wish;)
Re: aspartame?
The people here trying to defend asparteme or other articificial sweetners really need a wakeup call.
Like ravage said..it is made by monsanto. Monsanto has been known to lie about the health risks of their products. They DID make agent orange which is still causing horrible mutations in newborns to this date. As far as im concerned they are a highly unethical company. Then again most corporations are...dont agree with me ? watch the documentary "The Corporation".
I dont trust anything artificial nowadays. One only needs to take a look on the ingredients label of most cosmetics and then research those chemicals just a little bit to realize how harmful they are. Yet the FDA and other agencies in the US turn a blind eye to them. The result is that cancer and other diseases (such as alzhiemers) are ever increasing.
Re: aspartame?
since i have NO! (major) sugar intake like desserts etc and only sugar i get is from tea/juices, so i stick to normal sugar..
i like brown sugar though .. its more natural i guess..
Re: aspartame?
If you're not diabetic, you shouldn't be taking this crap anyway.
Eat moderately and be active. Trying to control your appearance strictly through dieting is a loosing battle.
Re: aspartame?
its a misconception. sugar is sucrose and splenda is made up of sucralose which is made by taking sugar molecules and synthetically altering its chemical composition in a lab....so that the chemical is "foreign" for our body and the human body lacks the mechanisms to properly metabolize it....thats why they say it has 0 calories...since the body cannot expel it right away...
Then again the FDA let vioxx out in the market as well. i think its up to the individual to take the task of protecting their health and their family's...by trying to go the extra step and familiarizing themselves of labels, ingredients etc.
