Aslam Baig, US plotted Zia killing: Roedad Khan

ISLAMABAD: Former interior secretary Roedad Khan said Mrs Robin Rafeel confirmed this and refused to meet General Aslam Baig during his visit to US.
Roeedad further said ISI sponsored launching of IJI because Benazir Bhutto had become a security risk as she was willing to cap Pakistan’s nuclear programme.
ISI, headed by Hamid Gul, became active for dislodging the government of Benazir Bhutto and IJI was established for this purpose, he said.
“United States became angry with Zia-ul-Haq when he advanced the nuclear bomb plan to completion. The US was also apprehensive that Zia would not allow it to play a role in Afghanistan,” Roedad said.
He said the US was happy with Musharraf but facilitated his exit because of public resentment against him.
To a question he said judiciary was very powerful in Pakistan but accountability of ex-army men was still a far cry.
He predicted that caretaker government would be established but it would extend its tenure and there would be no accountability.
“Establishment is afraid of Mian Nawaz Sharif,” Roedad said.

PPP (Benazir), U.S and elements of military were all behind the assasination of President Zia.
Do you have any proof or this just a brain fart? Why don't you file a case against BB, elements of military and CIA? If you have any guts to do that? Otherwise silence is the best option for such nonsense and bakwaas.

Don't be angry .
He is unaware of our establishment . If They can hang a leader like Zulfqar Ali Bhutto on a fake case . Can they leave such a chance to hang BB . They even killed her later .

Roedad Khan is a retired very senior bureaucrat and has been in since long . There was no link of Benazir in his statement about killing of Zia .
