It's hillarious the way recruitment is dun in these banks like
In Askari u hv a better chance if you are frm Army
In Soneri u hv a better chance if you are frm the Vohra Communtiy
In Citi/StChartered u hv a better chance if u hv a foreign degree n ur english is good
In any govt bank u hv a better chance if some one u know works there
In all the So called Islamic Banks u hv a better chance if u hv any dun sum course/certification frm any of the shariah institutes established there and u support a beard :D

I don’t have a bank account in Pakistan anymore, but my dad has a hefty balance in Standard Chartered, and has been a customer since the early 90s; used to be ANZ Grindlays back then. They had excellent customer service, and the branch in the diplomatic enclave in Islamabad was pretty educated and could converse very well in English. If you deposit more than 3 crores (Pakistani or foreign) they treat you like royalty. They would send their reps home if you ever need something, I am not even kidding! They also send you boxes of chocolates, mithai etc on the major holidays/festivities :hehe: I guess its their version of preferred customer service.

i confirm that too, we receive chocolates/cakes/mithas on different occasions at home.

and you know whye they treat you as royal, because every bank manager have certain limit of deposits to cross.. after that he receive hefty bonus too..

Now they have ATMs in Pakistan , but 99% of them are straight out crappy and in the evenings mostly out of money .

i've also had bad experiences with Askari Bank. its a nightmare just walking in there esp the pindi branch. customer service is so slow and long and when you want to open a bank account there are too many papers to sign and sign again. its a headache.

their machine swallowed my atm card! i asked for a replacement! 2 months later...finally it came. but they charged me rs 500/- for it when their own atm swallowed my card! it wasn't my fault, it was theirs and i fought until they paid me back my Rs 500/-

they charge you for using their services, taking money out etc. do all banks in pakistan charge you for using their services?!
